PT, I have re-written Kevins filter, and poosted it on the other thread where it belongs. I appreciate your input, and look forward to your comments

This filter continues to work for me. In 2016, I averaged 3.16% per week. So far in 2017 I am at 2.98% per week. Take into account that I re-invest 90% of my profits each week and you can see that this is definitely a "slow cooker" way to make good, good money consistently. Hats off for your great work! Is it perfect? No, but close enough for me.

So what will you do when we get another scenario like 2008. That's when Tro seemed to go on a long hiatus. Does this system work in that environment? Did the short system work?

Ps.

You could have made similar money just holding on to XIV and never trading.

snappy - you have to have other criteria/filtering. I never get the same stocks you show.

Are you using TRO's filter or Kevin's?

snappy: Would you please consider posting your filter?

Thanks,
Steve

I use the same filter posted here. I don't look at ETF, volume is 1,000,000+. Other than that, I sort by 1% one week, 2% the next, 5% the next and then back to 1%, etc. I also do not pick a stock if it is that stock's Earnings Report (ER) week.

Sorry, I was wrong. These are my other restrictions I have changed:

close is above 5
average volume(30) above 500000
and Price is between 5 and 250
sort column 8 descending

But like before I sort by 1%, 2% and 5% alternating each week, no ETF or ER week.

I did try using the line price above EMA(13), but I had better swings without this line.

Read first 12 pages of this thread with plans to read the rest later.

So far ,I can see how shooting for a 1% gain can result in wins +90% of the time but there is that looming question of when to cry uncle . If you dont hit the the 1% target Monday or Tuesday and the stock takes a dive you need to have a stop somewhere or you eventually run into a stock that loses 30%-40%.

Any thoughts by those using this filter on the "art" of placing a stop for this one?
